Benefits of Bariatric Surgery
For many people, bariatric surgery has proven to be the most effective, long-term treatment for weight loss.
- Weight Loss: Most patients lose weight rapidly after surgery and continue to do so for 18 to 36 months.
- Diabetes Remission: Many patients with type 2 diabetes experience remission after surgery.
- Lower Cholesterol & Blood Pressure: Obesity-related health conditions, such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol may improve, lowering your risk for cardiovascular disease.
- Sleep Apnea: Get a better night's rest. In sleep study tests, people who lost weight after bariatric surgery experienced fewer sleep apnea symptoms.
- Quality of Life: After surgery, many people have more energy, allowing them to lead a more active life, and may experience an improvement in their emotional well-being.
